Kemet 15'' and 20'' lapping machines are bench-top machines with solid metal
metal construction. They feature a digital timer and automatic dual-circuit dosing system for diamond and lubricating fluids, and a variable speed drive for table rotation.

Diamond lapping (brilliant lapping):
For diamond lapping, a diamond liquid is applied to a composite lapping plate. The conditioning rings and workpieces partially fix the diamond grains in the plate. This causes a cutting action that produces a reflection, even a glossy surface finish. Thanks to the reflection, flatness can be measured directly. Diamond, the hardest material that can be used over and over again, is therefore ideal for lapping.
The right choice of platen, diamond liquid, grit size, concentration, pressure and speed depends on the workpiece material and the required roughness.
